Experienced, compassionate clinicians here to support you and your family
Adi Soffer, PsyD
Hello, and welcome! I am Dr. Adi Soffer, a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 35307) with a deep passion for helping individuals and families overcome psychological challenges and reaching their full potential. With a strong educational foundation and extensive clinical experience, I am committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each individual’s needs.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
I earned my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the State of California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, following a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine. My academic journey has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of psychological theories and practices, which I now apply in my clinical work.
My dissertation examined the experience of first-time mothers, specifically the connection between expressing negative emotions and their overall quality of life. I found that openly acknowledging and expressing difficult emotions- such as anxiety, frustration, or overwhelm- plays a crucial role in improving well-being. This research informs my approach to helping new moms navigate the emotional challenges of motherhood in a healthy, supportive way.
CLINICAL EXPERTISE:
My work is characterized by a broad range of expertise in psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions. My clinical services include:
COMPREHENSIVE ASSESSMENTS:
I am experienced in administering full psychoeducational assessments to children, adolescents, and adults. These assessments help in diagnosing developmental, educational, and social-emotional functioning, providing a clear roadmap for treatment.
FAMILY SYSTEM THERAPY:
I specialize in working with families using a family systems approach, which views the family as an interconnected unit where each member influences the dynamics of the whole. With extensive experience in addressing relational patterns, I help families develop healthier interactions and communication, focusing on improving relationships and emotional well-being. My approach also incorporates parent training to support parents in creating strong, supportive family structures.
OCD AND ANXIETY RELATED DISORDERS:
I also specialize in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, a highly effective treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and other anxiety-related disorders. I work with both children and adults to help them manage and overcome these challenges.
BEHAVIORAL APPROACH:
I employ a behavioral approach in my work, which is particularly effective in helping individuals modify disruptive behaviors and develop positive coping strategies. I currently work with parents, guiding them in using behavioral techniques to support their children’s development and manage behavioral challenges at home.
MY APPROACH:
I believe in a holistic approach to mental health, where emotional, behavioral, and social competencies are nurtured to foster cognitive and psychological development. I am passionate about empowering children, families, and parents by providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive.
Shir Atias ,MA
Psychological Associate
Shir is a fourth-year doctoral student in the Psy.D. program at Alliant International University, California School of Professional Psychology, with an emphasis in Health Psychology. She earned her B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she also gained early clinical experience working at the Center for the Developing Mind, supporting children with neurodevelopmental disorders and selective mutism.
Shir has extensive experience providing evidence-based therapy to children, adolescents, and families. At Kesher Psychological Services, she offers individual therapy, family support, and psychological assessments under supervision. Her clinical focus includes treating anxiety disorders- such as social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and separation anxiety- as well as OCD, ADHD, and selective mutism in children and teens.
She has received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard approach for treating OCD. During her clinical training at the UCLA Semel Institute’s Child OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Clinic, Shir delivered individual therapy and led groups using the Coping Cat program- a structured, evidence-based CBT protocol designed to help children ages 7–13 recognize and manage anxiety. The program teaches kids how to identify anxious thoughts, develop effective coping strategies, and gradually face their fears in a supportive and developmentally appropriate way.
In addition, Shir integrates Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) into her work with younger children, particularly those struggling with behavioral challenges and selective mutism. PCIT is an evidence-based treatment that strengthens the parent-child relationship by coaching caregivers in real-time interactions to improve communication, emotional regulation, and behavior. Through PCIT, Shir helps parents become more confident, attuned, and effective in responding to their child’s needs, while empowering the child to feel more secure and in control.
Shir is passionate about working collaboratively with families and helping young clients build resilience, confidence, and healthy emotional tools. Her therapeutic approach is warm, engaging, and deeply attuned to the developmental and relational needs of children and adolescents.
In her free time, Shir enjoys being outdoors, traveling, playing board games, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Dylan is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Miami and an M.A. in Marriage, Couples, and Family Therapy from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Her clinical work is grounded in a strong academic foundation and a deep commitment to helping individuals navigate anxiety, OCD, and the emotional complexities of parenthood.
She specializes in treating Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), using evidence-based treatment approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard intervention for OCD. Dylan completed intensive ERP training through the Cognitive Behavioral Institute, where she gained advanced tools for addressing intrusive thoughts, compulsions, and mental rituals.
Dylan also has a strong passion for working with women and families during pregnancy, postpartum, and the early parenting years. She is currently pursuing certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International- a specialized credential that ensures clinicians are well-equipped to treat perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), including postpartum depression, anxiety, OCD, and trauma. This training reflects her dedication to understanding the unique emotional experiences that can arise during this sensitive and transformative period, and to offering informed, compassionate care to new and expecting parents.
While her practice focuses primarily on individual therapy, Dylan is also trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2), a research-based approach developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman. This method emphasizes building connection, improving communication, managing conflict, and strengthening relationships. Dylan draws on this framework to support clients who are navigating relational challenges, especially those that arise during major life transitions like parenthood.
Dylan’s approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and active. She creates a supportive space for clients to explore their experiences, understand the roots of their distress, and build practical tools for change. Whether she is working with a teenager managing anxiety or a mother struggling with identity and overwhelm, Dylan is committed to helping her clients feel more connected, empowered, and whole.
